Nutty Maple Oatmeal Scones

Is it breakfast? Is it desert? Either way, I think we can both agree that you deserve a delicious treat. These scones won't disappoint!

PREP TIME COOK TIME TOTAL TIME MAKES

20 MIN 20 MIN 40 MIN 8 SCONES

Ingredients 2 cups Sideaway Foods Nut Blend Flour

3/4 cup oats

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 cup butter, cubed

2 eggs

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

3 tbsp milk

1/4 cup maple syrup


Maple Glaze

1 cup confectioners sugar

1-1/2 tbsp milk

1 tbsp maple syrup


Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 400° F. Whisk together the nut blend flour, all-purpose flour, oats, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Cut in the butter with a fork until coarse crumbs form.

  2. Whisk in the egg, vanilla, milk and maple syrup.

  3. On a lightly floured surface, form the dough into a 1-inch thick disk and cut into 8 slices. Place each on a sheet pan and bake for 18-20 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes on pan, then cool completely on a wire rack.

  4. To glaze: mix together the confectioners sugar, milk and maple syrup. Once scones are cool, drizzle glaze on top and let harden.
